Working with Mary as an older athlete has been amazingly helpful. I have been running marathons for almost 40 years, and had not altered my diet or workout routine, thinking that I could just continue to maintain my current program. Mary taught me how my nutrition and workout program had to change to adapt to my menopausal body. Her insight as a nurse and nutritionist as well as her experience as an endurance athlete provided me with a well rounded program. I had worked with trainers and also with nutritionists in the past, but because they were not talking to each other, I wasn’t improving. My review of Mary as helping me with my nutrition and weight loss has not been like most. Most feel like a cookie cutter, eat less calories, eat more protein, fast, blah blah blah. Mary does not look at anything as a cookie cutter. First she wants to know how you really eat, no reason to lie or try and eat one way or another. I ate like a complete cow during that week. I knew we would talk about it or like most be judged, but that never happened. Mary looked at it and the numbers and explained why there are better choices. She looks at the person and understands the person along with the goal. There are not cannot haves. There are not judgements. She does an exceptional job to actually care about you as a person and makes you feel like a part of her family. I plan on working with her over my entire career from a beginner endurance athlete to someday a semi-pro. Thank you for everything you have done and will help me with!
